I played this game for about 2 hours today before the server went down and although a short game, I was very impressed. As a game it is very similar to the older "Realms of dispair" MUD but with some nice added advantages. The map is by far the nicest for me, as my direction sense is hopeless. As a warrior I was able to obtain 5th level easily, hit point regen' was faster than other games I have played so less downtime. The weapon skills advanced nicely with every combat encounter. AOD is a great game for first timers, the NPC Healer Toric is great for newbs and the beginner area is 2 levels with enough good MOBS till about 9th level. I realy would recommend this game to others and hope the site is up and running again after I write this!!!!! have fun.
