Well, after a while I stopped posting on the other forum thread since the MUD had actually become a reality and I needed to begin work on getting it started. A lot of things have been changed, including the premise of the entire MUD. The MUD will NOT take place in Vietnam, but in a similar situation in a fictional country. (Name has yet to be decided) What does this do? Obviously for one gets away from the sensitivity of the Vietnam conflict, and also opens up the variety of options on creating a similar but not quite the same ...

Well, after a while I stopped posting on the other forum thread since the MUD had actually become a reality and I needed to begin work on getting it started.

A lot of things have been changed, including the premise of the entire MUD. The MUD will NOT take place in Vietnam, but in a similar situation in a fictional country. Obviously for one gets away from the sensitivity of the Vietnam conflict, and also opens up the variety of options on creating a similar but not quite the same guerilla enemy.

Thanks to a great coder I met, and Access Innovation (My cool hosting), it's actually become a reality that we will create a war that will be completely realistic, and completely based on the players and their actions. Things are drastically changing all the time, so who knows what the end product will be.

What is so exciting about this whole thing is the fact that missions and adventures won't have to be "scripted" or pre-created. A pilot goes down behind enemy lines, you don't have a choice... you have to go attempt a rescue that may develop into more, or might be scratched before it gets off the ground.

Another interesting feature we are planning on implementing is the fact that each room will represent an area of space...and each will be the same. We will be using coordinates so that the entire thing will be mappable and artillary and such will be a lot easier to put in.

What I'd like from this MUD community is to mainly get questions... good questions that will actually make me think. Or just general information you are curious about. That way I can perfect the different aspects I haven't quite looked at yet.
