This is a discussion on "Any Muds?" in the Top Mud Sites Advertising for Players forum : While I wait for a response from the admin's of DartMUD, is there anybody who might wanna advertise their MU*? Since it's already been a while, I'll try any MU* anybody wants to offer. What I'm looking for is only two things: crafting and/or professions, and a place where you don't have to go and kill monsters if you don't want to and still be able to level. Thanks! I'll pop by any MU* that's posted on here. Appreciations, Asalyt... |

Try ArmageddonMUD.
Seeings how you've only got 2 criteria, I'll only mention those, but there are a lot more details about Armageddon (to see a quicklist of them go here). Crafting available in Armageddon: * Sewing * Dyeing * Creating Armor * Creating Weapons * Creating Medicine * Creating Jewelry * Cooking Food * Basket Weaving * Floristry * Creating Instruments * Leather working * Rope making * Stone Crafting * etc Non-Combatant Professions: * Personal Servants * Noble Family Servants * Merchants * Crafters * Foragers (getting herbs, salt, wood, rocks, etc) * Obsidian Miners * Salt Gatherers * Spies * Rumour Mongerors * Thieves * Physicians * Bards * Fletchers * Spice Gatherers * Gypsies (no-one knows what they do for professions * etc This may not sound like a lot, but I have been playing for just under 2 years and have had about 10 (mostly short-lived) combatant oriented characters (whether they be guards, mercenaries or hunters). All of those roles had very realistic restrictions on combat (not being able to go out hunting if I'm a noble's guard for example). Also, there are no levels in Armageddon. If you want to increase your competency at basket-weaving, you'll need to weave baskets, not go kill some rats |

I didn't want to respond to your earlier post here because I don't think that it is entirely appropriate, but you haven't emailed any of us (at least not as far as I'm aware), you haven't posted to our message forum, and you obviously can't contact us in the game itself. In short, we have no idea who we're supposed to be helping, and therefore which banned class C address pool you're coming from
Just email me at either jiles(at)dartmud(dot)com, or uyehara(at)fas(dot)harvard(dot)edu (I occasionally have a bit of trouble with the first one) if you're still interested. |

Hey there!
You may want to go to www.theseventhsun.net and check them out. They have exactly what you want (at least the way you described it what you wanted). You don't have to hunt and smash 'n bash critters to level here. You can actually take up a profession. Become a farmer.....alchemist......jeweler, etc. We are in our alpha testing phase now, and about to begin beta in April so go to the website and click on the Beta App and join us! |

You might wanna check out Daedal Macabre.
It might have what you are looking for, in reference to the whole not having to hunt/kill mobs to lvl. Being certain caster classes for instance, you can make use of the unique study system that allows you to lvl up and customize your spells while in the safety of the local library. And each and every class has the ability to gain xp through fishing/digging, as well as through the quest system. Lotsa options, check us out. www.daedalmacabre.org host: mud.daedalmacabre.org port: 9000 Raeven, DM Rep/Player. |
