OtherSpace (jointhesaga.com 1790) celebrates its fifth anniversary on June 28, 2003.

We expect to make a pretty big deal of it, with RP events, special awards, trivia contests and a reunion of as many players as possible from the first five years of our online saga.

For the reunion: Yes, I even mean the people I may not have come to like very much when they left, and those who may not have cared much for me (or other staffers or players) before they departed .

As we've grown and evolved, the management of OtherSpace always has been a fairly intense learning experience. Some things we've done well; some things we haven't. We underestimated how bad an idea it is to give some people too much authority, and overestimated the maturity of others (even among staffers). While pursuing the application of IC consequences for IC actions, we have occasionally lost track of the *OOC* consequences when a character dies.

But one thing we continue to strive for on OtherSpace is improvement. We try to learn from what works and what doesn't.

I hope you'll all join us in the coming months, as we kick off Arc XV: The Gate of Breath and roll on toward the momentous celebration of OtherSpace's fifth anniversary!
