THL MUD: Accursed Kingdom is open for beta-playtesters...
We are 100% pure Sword and Sorcery, hack and slash, PKILL, no fairy or elf b.s., blood and gore, gloom and doom, atmosphere-filled, text-adventure. Our theme is based on Howard's Hyboria, a fantasy world created long before Middle Earth was ever an idea, and famous for Conan the Cimmerian. We feature all original zones and realistic geography (a breath of fresh air from clustered stock zones), enhanced mob A.I., multi-classing race-based character development... and much more. Our goal is to target the players who enjoy a good adventure (encouraged) RP game, and discourage those who are just looking for a new chat channel, or those strange players that abound these days who are baffled by a simple 3-room maze(?)! If your one of those people who only logon to 'quit' after you have seen the who list.. don't waste your time. We're looking for players who judge a game by the game, not by the 'who' list. In any case, we do have a small pbase that is friendly/helpful if you ask. Although we are completely playable, please keep in mind that we are in constant development and features may change at anytime... Come see why many of our players state we are one of the few MUDs they found that actually delivered what it promised! No 'donations'. No graphics. No special clients required. |

The .mud should be replaced with a .com.
I went to check this out, I was surprised to find that a ton of work had gone into it.. and the design decisions involved seemed well chosen. IMO, thats almost unique for a dikurivative. This mud is on my short list. Recommended. |

I think I've discovered the secret of advertising here. My newbie count tripled compared to my other ads. lol. Thankfully, almost all of the response has been positive!
I hope you understand, Kavir, that my reply was/is completely tongue-in-cheek, and I'm certainly happy to keep the hits going. hehe I assume you run your own mud(s), and you strike me as maybe a busy person, so I can't imagine why you would come to help playtest mine, but in any case, it seems you hardly stayed on long enough to make any kind of real judgement. I would also make the following points: 1) your comparisons to the mobs was actually fairly dead-on, except for the fly, and the dog will certainly defend himself, but it won't chase just as the desc suggests, but, in any case, your still nitpicking and judging a game that... 2) we are -playtesting- and I never claimed my mobs were balanced anyway, which they are for the most part (with the exception of some smobs), and, again, we are p l a y t e s t i n g. I suggest you actually fight the mobs and you will find that they are much more balanced than the consider command suggests. 3) The CONSIDER command helpfile specifically informs you that is not completely accurate in comparisons. 4) we are -playtesting-, and even though I say this again, there will still be people who expect it to be fully functional. lol 5) I specifically asked for playtesters. I don't remember writing a request for a ten minute review? However, I do respect your opinion, except when it borders on trolling, with no other goal other than to make my game look cheap and fly-by-night. Now, that wasn't what you were trying to do, was it? *pat* 6) If you don't like the game, fair enough. I still appreciate the feedback, in all honesty, and despite the hit increase. 7) Kavir, did you see anything you liked, and if you did, why didn't you throw me some positive feedback, dammit? Anyway, most of the feedback has (thankfully again) been positive. I think anyone can appreciate the fact that this monstrosity is the work of one person, who put 5 years of careful planning and development, and certainly enough research and development to make a typical college students head spin, and tons of hard work and love, into a game that is definately growing into one brutal MUD! We aren't trying to be the best... just striving to create a fun and addicting, pure 100% sword and sorcery text-adventure game! Online and improving for two rocky years now, and still going strong... Come help us playtest! |
