This is a discussion on "Looking for easy to learn fun mud" in the Top Mud Sites Advertising for Players forum : I am looking for a mud that has pretty simple components so that it is easy to learn. I have been used to playing MajorMUD for years now and nothing seems to be as fun as that. The thing is that everyone scripts the #### out of MajorMUD games and nobody is every live in any of them anymore. I want to find a new easy to learn mud that doesn't include much rp and is basically killing monsters and killing boss monsters with some quests here and there. I'm heavily into Roleplay now, and the games that I most enjoy don't count as 'easy to learn'...
However, I do remember one I used to play called NightmareLPMud... does anyone know if that one still exists? It ran on the imaginary.com servers... I'd suggest that one, if it's still out there. |

The Jungle MUD just got back online recently (but all the old players are returning quickly). It's MERC based, but maybe that'll be ok anyway. Its mostly H&S but the players are real fun, and if you really want to RP they'll work something out, though I'd rate it about at 'Accepted' on the TMS scale.

Come step through the GateWay. GateWay is a completely original, lp mud. Plenty to see and do for every type of player. Hack n Slash, questing, rp, pk, or just hanging out with the goofy crowd. Even the occasional pie fight, and psychedelic frogs. Also, there is a mentor/protege system in place for those who might be new to mudding, or not use to lp commands.

If you're looking for just pure fun in hack n slash, I would recommend Darkwind. It's easy to get into and there are tons of quests that you can mess around with.
Anyway, it should provide you with hours of mindless fun and entertainment. |

You might check out Escape from Destiny? It offers quite a bit of killing in an original world. For the moment we are trying out no pkill idea, but normally we are a pkill based mud. Its a good time to start with lots of players around and although we have several areas of quests, as long as you consider your kills and stay on your toes you should be fine. I would be sure to practice right away though. Check it out if you haven't found anything else.
