This is a discussion on "Ex-MUD Addict Looking to Relapse" in the Top Mud Sites Advertising for Players forum : Hey all, I used to be fairly active on these boards and in the MUD community a long time ago. Unfortunately real life hit me and I've been away in college for the last eight or so months. In that time I've left my old MUD project and the first MUD I ever played has closed down. Due to all that I have no place to go back to. I'm looking to get back into MUDing part time, hopefully for only a few hours a week (yeah, right...). Since I've been gone so long, I was ... |

Hey all,
I used to be fairly active on these boards and in the MUD community a long time ago. Since I've been gone so long, I was hoping someone could be kind enough to point me in a direction where I'd be able to have some fun. Here's what I'm looking for: - There has to be at least some emphasis on roleplay and player interaction; I have my Xbox for when I feel like killing things. Doesn't have to be super RPI (but can be), I'd just like somewhere where I can play a role and feel like other people are playing one too. - A decent size player base would be nice, since I'd like people to play with. - At the same time I want to be able to play casually - I don't want to have to grind levels or experience to get noticed and I don't want to have to be online three hours every night to get noticed and drawn up into any kind of action. ... That's really about it actually, I can remember myself being far more picky in the past but right now all I really care about is being able to have some fun. Please don't reply to this, email is a far better way to reach me. You can do that at jeffpritchard@gmail.com. And hey, if anyone remembers me from back when, I'd be happy to hear from you to catch up. Cheers to everyone, Jherlen aka Jeff the bored college student findng ways to put off his paper |

Try out SOI. This is a great place if you don't want to have to level, because there are none.
They have a great crafting system. They have roles you can play and the combat system is the best around in my opinion. If you like Tolkien you will love this. Shadows of Isildur |

I definitely recommend Shadows of Isildur - excellent roleplaying game. So's Armageddon. And, if you're of a mind to try out original theme SF or Fantasy, check out OtherSpace: New Journeys and Chiaroscuro. Looking for Star Wars roleplaying? Reach of the Empire might suit your tastes! You'll find links below!
