Elysium RPG is a completely custom coded MUD with a rich history and great attention to detail. This is an RP-Encouraged mud with an average of 15-20 players on, with around 40 at peak times.

Currently, the Artisans guild has ONE barely active member, and what once was a very popular profession is now incredibly rare. Very few know how to forge, and fewer can runesmith, and these are two skills that are highly lucrative in the land of Elysium. If you are a crafter type and looking for something fresh to try, please give us a shot.

The Artisans guild, offering Runesmithing (the art of engraving magical runes onto weapons and body armour in order to enhance them in a number of different ways); forging (the ability to make weapons and armor, and at high levels, repair armor); and ensorcelling (the art of enchanting rings and amulets with various healing and attacking capabilities). It is located in Gralthar, city of the dwarves (sharing a continent with goblins and orcs), so the best bet for an artisan is dwarf, goblin, or orc, for easy access to the guild, though travel between continents is fairly easy to get.

We also have a more magic-oriented crafters guild called the Alchemists-- their skills are alchemy (Mixing potions from herbs that can help or hurt), crystals (making unmovable magic stones for protection and/or enhancement) and ensorcelling (described above). This guild is located in Thul'mar, city of the Specters, who share a continent with the Cyclops.

I wanted to try this...stopped by several times last night, but lag made it unplayable???

The lag can bog down from time to time-- especially during the autosaves. It is a little bit of a slower paced mud, and it does not allow command stacking, so no speedwalking and that sort of thing, but it's not too awful bad usually. Just try back again and it should be better.
