Now, 25 years later, the classic space opera is reborn in a game from the development team at OtherSpace, combining the hugely popular Star Wars saga with the online storytelling techniques that have helped build OtherSpace into a success during the past four years.

Star Wars: Reach of the Empire (jointhesaga.com 1977) holds its first roleplaying event on Sept. 1, 2002. During this event on Tatooine, set a few years before Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, SW:ROE will take its first step in a storytelling journey that will diverge radically from the evolution of the movies.

The past isn't prologue - it's a dream, forgotten upon waking.

The chargen facility at Star Wars: Reach of the Empire (jointhesaga.com 1977) is now open. We'll start approving the quick and easy apps once Marson installs the RPMODE flag .

Since the first event takes place on Tatooine on Sept. 1, I'd *highly* recommend newcomers get characters with a reason to be on Tatooine. But, hey, even stormtroopers would be working in the Imperial garrison near Mos Eisley, right!?

Etti IV, one of the key planets in the Corporate Sector Authority's territory on the outskirts of known space, has been added. It was built and described by Ortta. It is available as a +hitchhike destination.

In other news: Work continues on space. I've personally been involved in describing a Corellian Corvette, the Z-95 Headhunter, and a few other nifty projects. I've also been installing commodities for cargo hauling.

Last night, we brought the new HSpace Trueline 4.2.1 system online for public consumption, so we've got several starships out looking for crews.

Cargo hauling is operational throughout the existing worlds, and shipyard vendors have been built on Sullust, Bespin, Tatooine, Coruscant and Ord Mantell.

Thanks to our new Imperial admin, Pol, Corellia has been built. The planet, home to Han Solo and one of the most beautiful worlds in the galaxy, looks great, and it's already been added as a +hitchhike destination, given a marketplace for trade, it's been spaced, and Titan is now in the process of adding housing opportunities to it.

I'm also told Pol has some RP opportunities in mind for Corellia. Should be fun!
