If you've ever been to Lost Souls, you know that it's never been the easiest place to get started. When your MUD prides itself on the depth and customizability of its systems, it can become confusing for someone who just wants to get in and start whacking a few orcs. Well, we're doing something about that, and about time.

We now support the ability for new players to begin with a pre-generated "stock" character that's set up with a good set of starting skills, some helpful special equipment, and so on. This lets new players get started right away and have a look around, leaving detailed character generation for later when they have an idea what choices they want to make. We believe that this will make the MUD considerably easier on new players, simplifying and streamlining the initial experience as it does.
