What is Shades of Truth? It is one of the most intense and in-depth online roleplaying games that has ever existed on the internet. If you enjoy "hardcore roleplaying" then this is one of the best games available for you to play.
Taking place in a collectively shared Dreamstate, characters can determine the fate of an entire city. They can lead a House, study the nature of the world around them, battle forces that threaten the Dream, or become one of the most notorious villains in the City of Dream's history. The choice is entirely up to the player! There is no limit to the scope of the story the player wants to create while within the game.

Cool. What's the connection to the original Underlight? Same codebase? What happened to the Lyra Studios people? Did they open source the codebase or give it away to volunteers to re-open? I'm glad to see it's back. Just curious how this came to be.

Hello. GM Independence, here. To answer your question: Some time ago, a small group of people got together with the intent to resurrect the game loved by so many, in effort to give something back. They bought a small nonprofit license. While the teams previously, have had several issues, and a great deal of interpersonal problems, it has changed hands a few times. Sadly, this fact, and a few technical deficiencies have dwindled the player base to incredible lows. At this point, we a new team have stepped in, on behalf of the players, to offer a new view on the old game, and prepare to see something we've all been waiting to see. A 3D client. New maps, and UI, are being worked on already. To my understanding from the Dev team, they are currently in the pre-alpha testing stage. But, that being said, we have a new story line, and plenty of surprises in store. On a final note, we the GM Support Team, hope to see you, and many more join the ranks of dreamers new, and once again.
