Many many many years ago if found this gem. It was a MUD called "World of Inferno." It was a pay to play mud... after some time it closed down. Maybe 2-4 years ago it re-opened, but this time it was free. It didn't stay open for long - not sure exactly. Apparently the person that own/ran the game... Malifax? was in the process of creating a new game called... ShadowFall RPG? (I could be wrong). I'm curious if Malifax is still out there if he will ever open World of Inferno again?

I'm looking for a similar mud... that had round time combat.... I've tried DragonRealms, Gemstone, and the IRE games... and Avalon I open for suggestions...

I'm only aware of one new mud of that style since the last time you asked - it's called Maiden Desmodus, and it's fairly hardcore RP-oriented (far more so than any other commercial mud I've seen).

Last time Will posted was in this thread (I believe). That was last year, and I haven't heard of his new game going live.

Our game has timed non-auto combat, but we are in perpetual alpha with a low (0-10 online) player-base. Welcome to drop by and try it out.

I actually quit Maiden Desmodus a few days back -- it's a great MUD, and the Staff are really decent... but the RP there isn't that hard-core... they have some issues.... In my mind Maiden is a more of PK-KingdomWar then role play. I miss Maiden alredy the mechanics of that game where superb, but after my issues I won't return... I won't go any further into the details because I don't want to discredit the game.
