dnb(drum and bass) is another story. it is like a cousin to dubstep.. as the name implies it has fast breakbeats with heavy bass. example for some fantastic drum and bass;

My appologies for surprising you with my question, as the terms were unknown to me.

My musical educations ended with Techo and Trance a few years back

Now, considering the music of choice, the type of game you'd be looking for would be in the Science Fiction gender. I'd say take a look at Otherspace.

yeah, I need to try science fiction muds then.. or time travel maybe.. fast paced combat is also what I'm looking for.

Can't help you with a MUD suggestion, but after listening to some of this music you definitely should try playing Geometry Wars with the sound off and this on in the background.
