What do you mean train new admins? Like in a project like immortal university? http://www.inetsolve.com/~ucmm/ImmU/

Yes, I'm perfectly willing to train any new staff that we take on.
However, I'll only recruit staff from our regular playerbase. I need to see that the person has a sense of devotion to the mud itself before I will trust them to be on my staff in any capacity. |

I agree. Don't ask me to imm you if you have no dedication to the mud.
Staff needs to have a sense of pride and joy in the mud, and it's very important that they understand the inner workings of the mud, including understanding my mood swings (Ok, I'm exaggerating a bit |

I am generally willing to train new builders and immortals but like many muds out there, prefer to hire from the players playing the game. However, in my current situation, we are in the startup mode and its hard to do that when there are really no players to pull from,
But usually if someone submits an application for a builder position, I carefully review the application and generally spend time talking to the person before making a decision to hire them. Too many times I have had people say they have built for a few months but it turns out all they want is the prestige of being an immortal and none of the work. In this start up period I don't have the time necessary to train someone but down the road perhaps that will change. Just my opinion. |
