This is a discussion on "Dont you just hate these?" in the Top Mud Sites Advertising for Staff forum : Yes yes, another builders wanted post. Sorry The Winds of Lor'an is looking for builders who are used to working with ROM2.4b6-based OLC, although we will happily train anyone without experience. We are a new QuickMUD-based MUD that was started in September 2002 and has already undergone many important modifications and code changes, some from snippets (we dont believe in re-inventing the wheel) and others coded in-house. Yes yes, another builders wanted post. Sorry
The Winds of Lor'an is looking for builders who are used to working with ROM2.4b6-based OLC, although we will happily train anyone without experience. We are a new QuickMUD-based MUD that was started in September 2002 and has already undergone many important modifications and code changes, some from snippets (we dont believe in re-inventing the wheel) and others coded in-house. Some of the more recent changes made: Three new saving throws and elemental resistance that can be trained. Armor split into heavy, medium, and light categories. Auto-law enforcement including punishment and the ability to throw things at those in the stocks. Profanity filter on most channels. Major and minor talent system (still undergoing modification). No stock classes. 8 of around 20ish custom classes completed so far. There are many more changes, but listing them here would just take up space. You can find a full section dedicated to the coding changes on our website. Why build for us? We know where our MUD is going. Most of our world has already been planned out on paper (it is in fact based upon a whole AD&D campaign setting created by one of the staff members) so the areas built, while many will be almost completely free projects, will all fit together with a cohesive storyline. As a member of the building staff you will be treated with the respect builders deserve, not like second-class citizens as is the case on many MUD's. If you want to do something in your area, but cant figure out a way to do it with the code and facilities already available, we will ADD what you need (within reason). Builders requests take precedence over normal coding projects. Anyway, enough rambling. If you like what you're reading and wish to know more then log on to the game, visit the website, or email myself. You will find all the addresses below. Oh, and despite the address we are NOT a U.K based MUD! Hosting is provided by Kyndig. Hope to hear from you soon! (Quick edit: Preferred method of registering your interest is via email. Although I'm often on the MUD, sometimes invisible if I'm working, my wildy varying times of logging in means I often miss interested parties! |

Bump again
We've recently added the Bladesinger class and have quite a few builders creating areas, but we're still looking for more! |
