Wars have ravaged the lands of Rathenna for all of its past, various races have rose to power only to be cast down, replaced by another seeking the power of dominance. The time of the elves is almost over; the dwarves are in a small decline, retreating to their mountain homes. The dominion of man is still at hand, but it has been challenged and defeated in the past by the Orcish Horde. Dragons patrol the skies, but most have taken to rest, waiting for the passage of time, and again, their golden age. The land is at peace, healing from the wounds of war, but somewhere stirrings of unrest began, those stirrings became ripples, and those ripples became waves. The waves washed over the lands, and 1000 years of peace was washed away with it.

War has broken out again, disease and plague spread across the land, decimating the people and lands where they touch. Cures were sought, armies raised to quell the unrest, kingdoms tried to reclaim what they had lost, but others had rushed to fill the voids, and succeeded. The fate of races hung in the balance, would Rathenna fall into the darkness of the past, or bask in the glory possibly to come. The futures rests on the scales of balance which are slowly dipping one way, only to swing back the opposite direction just as violently. Deeper into war, then fighting back to gain the peace, the world is at a crossroads, but which road will it take.

We need all the help we can get to get the mud open and ready for some players. We are dedicated and run a smaug 1.4ar4 codebase with the server located right in our home. We keep an eye on the mud almost 24/7 and when we can't be on most of the staff has our personal home number to get ahold of us if there are problems with the mud.
