Merlineous is on a distinguished road
I currently run a circlemud based system at telnet://carsopia.dyndns.org:4000. I am also evaluating a SMAUG deriv codebase telnet://carsopia.dyndns.org:5000

I am looking for a dedicated builder to shape the world. Although I have two "themes" I like the idea of , the chief builder would have the final say and whatever they want they can have. (My ideas was a Medieval fantasy world,
but my wife (bless her) thinks that something based in the wild west with cowboys/indians etc might be good!

I am quite willing to enforce RP and prefer that anyway. I am the chief coders (and have 2 assistants who program but don't play too often - they do what I ask!

I am able to offer the chief builder high immortal level and a 50/50 ownership arrangement of the world.

For info, World of Carsopia is located on a FreeBSD box with dedicated intenet connection (no hosting company).

If you want more info you can email or log on. The smaug code on port 5000 has only just been installed so you can have a looksee if you want Its got a few exras built in.

It would be upto the chief builder to decide which codebase we use. Either CircleMUD 3.1 (Which has loads of extras including skill based weapons, extended races and classes (Working ok for mobiles but needs some fixes for
players) and more, OR to use the SMAUG code also has some extras, or to install something else all together. SMAUG has OLC and Circle has Oasis OLC, dgscripts and buildwalking. From a coding point of view, the CircleMUD code
is familiar as we have been playing with it for some time, the SMAUG code is ok (well commented in the source) but things will take a little longer to code as we learn it...

Why do we need a chief builder:
My main enjoyment from operating a MUD is the coding. That said, I enjoy building rooms. However, I need someone to take control of the building...someone with a vision, someone with ideas and someone who can co-ordinate the building process.

What do we want from the Chief builder:
The ability to take stock of the current worlds (Circle or SMAUG). Plan a theme for the new world
Split the new world into development zones, plan the development schedule, recruit (?) and assign work areas to new builders...

How much time will this take:
Creating the new world could take along time. There are no time pressures or deadlines. The current CircleMUD will stay up for players and the new MUD (Circle, SMAUG or whatever) will be in closed mode on a different port.
The time the Chief Builder spends online is upto them. As a minimum we would like them to be able to check their MUDmail every other day incase there are any questions/answers needed urgently.

What will the Chief Builder get from us?
Immortal status and credits on the mud.
A 50% ownership of the world
A team of coders waiting to please
Fun, enjoyment, pleasure etc etc.

Thanks for reading
