Advertising for Staff

We are a Steampunk RPI in the production phase. We need builders, coders, and writers. Applicants must be comfortable with, and hopefully supportive of, the strict RP perma-death roleplaying model, and should either have real familiarity with RPI’s or a willingness to play try those already in existence to understand the genre.

We offer a supportive environment with a dedication to team building. Polite professionalism is a core principle. Every member of the team is valued. While all ideas cannot be used, all are heard.

Additionally, this is an opportunity to bring an exciting world to fruition. While there is a great deal of work, we are a mature and reasonable group who understand the need to prioritize and allocate time. With this in mind we take a project focused approach rather than asking for an hourly commitments.

What we need:

1: One or more coders with a knowledge of C and SQL are needed. A familiarity with the DIKU GAMMA 0.0 code and/or with the SoI Engine is also a plus. You should also know how to do backups and have your own box to code on, whether in Notepad on Windows, or Linux. You will work with the Head Coder.

2: Builders with a good mastery of English are needed. Knowledge of and/or the ability to research Victorian lifestyle and culture would be welcome. You will work with the Head Builder.

3: Those who love to see the world come alive through scripting are needed. We would like to have a team of scripters, beyond the builders themselves. At that stage, I would like to promote one of these scripters to Head Scripter.

4: A person accustomed to writing documents in a professional manner would be appreciated, to assist the Head Documentor. These documents would see service not only in-game, but also on the website.

5: A website wizard, proficient in JAVA and HTML. This person will work with our senior staff member to prepare a site that presents our game is a professional and clean manner. At some point in time, this person will become our website administrator.
