Smile

If so, I would suggest adding the name of the last person to post, to it so that people can see ahead of time if it might be something they're interested in talking about.

I don't know if I'll be able to program something that will work. I knew how UBB worked and it was pretty easy to write that, but from what I've heard, it's a lot more difficult with Ikonboard. Usually there are hacks written for this sort of thing, and a lot of people are looking for one, but no one has written one yet. Add that to the fact I'm a bit rusty with Perl these days and it makes it sound like it might be some time before it happens.

Okay, I actually did find a hack that will let me display the recent posts on the front page. Hopefully I'll have that set back up in a few day.

Also, I implemented the "Do you wish to track this topic" checkbox.

Any luck on this yet Synozeer? The absence of "recent forums" is the only thing I truly don't like about this new board. Otherwise I really like what you've done here.

It's definitely something I will be trying to do. I have the code for it (supposedly), but I haven't had the time to implement it. Hopefully I'll be able to do it very soon (crossing fingers).

That's interesting.  I was reading your response and then noticed that the word "new" in my previous post was colored.  I don't remember doing that.  Odd.

[Edit]
hmm...now it's not. Even stranger.

It's sort of a buggy thing with Ikonboard. If you ever do a search, that search term will be highlighted red. Well, when you click on the New Posts link, it's effectively doing a search in some field for "new", and as a side effect it highlights it red.

Thumbs up

Okay, the recent posts hack is now up and working. The only bug I've found with it so far is that if I delete a post, it doesn't update the recent posts list, but that's a minor thing. If you mind anything else wrong with it please post it here.

Well... There aren't enough cute girls my age to flirt with... Would that be a valid complaint?

(Which is a good thing according to my girlfriend...)
