This is a discussion on "Recent Forum Discussions" in the Top Mud Sites Bugs and Suggestions forum : I think the Recent Forum Discussions system has gone ballistic, because it shows posts with NO new posts since May the 3rd.... What's going on here?... |

I've noticed this too. Sometimes they bugger out, but sometimes they work alright. I was going to point this out too, but they always seem to correct themselves after a while.

but it has to be changed,anyways,I think.. it shoulda show something like newest posts by categories,like newest in builders,coders,advanced,etc.. cuz in the way it is now,sometimes it looks like really weird..example : Word asociations : by Shaolong [Flames]blahblah : by Shaolong [Spam]blahblah : by Shaolong stuff by Shaolong too,etc Well,you got the idea... |

As an aside, I'd prefer if the Tavern of the Blue Hand didn't get added to "Recent Forum Discussions". The vast majority of the posts there just aren't relevant to MUDding at all, and as a casual browser of TMS, I come here to skim the topics for MUD-related issues, and not a poll about what color socks you're wearing. Or equivalently, Dulan posting to protest the posting of bad polls and demand apologies for them.
I'd also be happy if the "number of posts" ranking system got disabled, as certain people seem to view that as a "score" that they must improve. |

 at least it would reduce complaints about 'spamming'. And,yea,it might be good idea to destroy the post counter.Everyone knows KaVir or Seth or Orion or me,so why would you need them anyways ? |

If someone votes on a poll, it will consider that thread to have a new message even if no new message was posted. Basically it's telling us which thread was "most recently updated".
