This is a discussion on "HUGE REQUEST" in the Top Mud Sites MUD Administration forum :

HI, My Partner and I are doing an art project for school. We wanted to use the charachter files and conversation logs of a mud to do some artwork. We were going to build our own mud but found this to not be possible in the 20 weeks we have. would it be possible if any of you have a working mud code that is not used that we could populate with college students? I know this is asking much, but it would be for only a short time and you will get all credit on our project's website. ...

I know this is asking much, but it would be for only a short time and you will get all credit on our project's website. It may even be an opportunity to revive a once dead mud.

Thank you,

Daganev

Try CalareyMUD. As far as I know, there isn't a MUD out there that runs it, which is quite unfortunate, as it's pretty nifty. 2.0 is probably easier to work with, as 3.0's new magic system is a bit annoying.

I don't know how many areas come with it. 3.0 had Jaston, the Nexus starting area, and a garden maze which was originally in the forest world in the west portal (I forgot what it was called). From what I understand from past conversations with Keolah, it's got a pretty easy OLC system. If you've got some basic ideas, it should be no problem. It isn't well documented, and there might be a few unintuitive bits. If you have any questions, you can ask me, certainly.

I don't know anything else to suggest. Not many good codebases which are no longer in use, probably for good reason. If you revive this one, though, I'd be eternally grateful. Miss it quite a lot.
