At first I had downloaded the Windows version, because unfortunately that's what I'm running. But when I went to make some changes to the code and recompile it in Cygwin, it wouldn't compile. I figured, I must just be a lousy coder so I took it all out and reinstalled it fresh, did make clean, tried compiling just what was there in the source files to see if maybe it wasn't that I'm a loser. And sure enough, it didn't compile. So I said okay, to #### with Windows. I'll download the Unix version, thinking that perhaps the Windows version doesn't allow revision of source code (as I think I've heard somewhere.) I did make clean again, and tried once again, but I get the exact same errors with the Unix version. Now, I know I'm not the only person out here who is attempting to use Smaug

It would probably help for you to give the error message you received when trying to compile.

Thanks for your reply! I was actually finally able to make it work by, oddly enough, installing it in a totally new directory. I'm not sure what it didn't like about the old one, but it works now. Thanks again *smile*+
