This is a discussion on "Text MUD developers acquired!" in the Top Mud Sites MUD Announcements forum :

As most of you probably know, Mythic was acquired by EA in June (and got their start in text MUDs...Mark Jacobs was doing text MUDs in '84), and World's Apart (Eternal City) was just acquired by Sony Online Entertainment (quasi-independent subsidiary of Sony Computer Entertainment that publishes MMOs). Article about it on my blog: http://forge.ironrealms.com/2006/08/...pers-acquired/ --matt...

Ilkidarios is on a distinguished road
Is Worlds Apart going to continue its current business model in regards to their MUDs?  I myself enjoyed their games Grendel's Revenge and Castle Marrach, but I can't afford a monthly subscription now like I used to.
