This is a discussion on "Project T...for now." in the Top Mud Sites MUD Announcements forum : Hey, just thought I'd spread the good word. There is a movement afoot, not headed up by me (because last time I tried to start a MUD...but I digress), to make a new comercialized, pay-to-play MUD. Ed Falconer is Creative Designer (and he's doing a knock-out job so far) and Traithe is the Head Administrator (or equivalent). http://www.middle-earth.us/forums/viewforum.php?f=42 That's the address for the current brainstorm-fest that's going on. True, that is a link to the SoI forums, but reaction has been huge ... |

True, that is a link to the SoI forums, but reaction has been huge since it was announced...two days ago. If anyone's interested in contributing, or just checking it out with the possible interest of playing when it goes up, check out those threads. The concept is just getting sketched out now. Personally, I'm excited to help these guys out. I've been MUDing for almost a year now, and this looks like something that's potentially amazing and I want to be a part of it. But don't take my word for it, see for yourself! |

How is a commericialized mud being developed an ADVANCED MUD CONCEPT? It's been done. Move along towards the promotions forum please.

The project sounds like it has great promise, particularly considering the two people developing it, and I'd also recommend that people check out the forums. However as Ashon points out, this post doesn't really belong in Advanced Mud Concepts - therefore I've moved it to announcements.

Owww crap no IRE feist game? Was looking forward to see the outcome of that :=) Even took my self time to read the three books of the "conclave of shadows" series. (On a side note does anyone know if that serie continues somehwere? It ends kind of as you would expect it to continue... as they stumble upon an army of talonys in a crypt and basically says "houston, we have a problem").

Well, you never know. <g> IRE just decided to hold off on it a bit due to some changed circumstances; due to my own plans (well, finishing grad school, anyway) I unfortunately wasn't able to commit given the revised timeframe, even if they did decide to move forward later on.
At any rate, this should be a fun experience - and no doubt easier to manage while I'm still a student, which is a definite plus. At least, that's what they tell me. |

As for Conclave, that's the latest (3rd) Riftwar series. I believe there's at least one more book in that series coming, and then you can expect 2 more Riftwars series before the whole storyline is concluded. I can't say what it is, but the plot of the 5th Riftwar is awesomely epic. --matt |
