This is a discussion on "New DoNClient release!" in the Top Mud Sites MUD Announcements forum : Its been quite some time since the last official DoNClient release. I've noticed that most people are still using the last official release, despite the bug fixes and nice shiny new features available in the latest versions, so I've bundled it all up and made a new official release. Highlight of this release is MSP support. If you play a mud which supports MSP I'd be happy to hear how you get along with DoNClient. Also added is better support for arrays in AELF and many bug fixes related to the media player.... |

Good point - I was obviously way too tired when I wrote that.
DoNClient Homepage - has all the links and downloads associated with DoNClient, which is a mud client for use with any mud, although it was originally developed for DeadOfNight MUD - so there are a couple of features which can only be used there, nothing significant though. |

I noticed that there were a few telnet aspects I wasn't ignoring when I should, so I fixed that - and while I was there added support for terminal type/status/supress go ahead/binary/end of record negotiations beyond the usual DONT/WONT support.
These features are currently available via auto-update in 1.2.8.1 and will be somewhat useful if you are playing on muds like achaea or discworld which attempt to use these aspects of telnet. I'll make another official release once i have some easier to use sound triggers/support for bell/xterm color/negotiation about window size support finished. Maybe make no-local-echo play abit better by taking advantage of EOR/GA prompt marking. |

Can't believe I didn't hear about this bug sooner - but versions 1.2.6->1.2.8 are all broken unless you have upgraded from 1.2.5 or earlier. The bug only shows up if you don't already have configuration settings before you run it.
So, I've brought out a new official release early, 1.2.9 - to fix this major screw up on my behalf. |
