We'rv been in existence over fifteen years so far, and figured it was time to take a look at what we've been doing and see how it could be even better.

After much discussion, our plan of action has emerged.

We'll be running the current game up to June 1, 2007. On that day, the doors will close forever on that world and we'll be opening up a new version of the game.

On that day, sad to say, current characters will see their stories end. But players will be able to start a new character in a world that features the same emphasis on harsh survival, accompanied by murder, corruption, and betrayal as well as improved code and the same high quality of building and staff attention the game is noted for.

The next version of the game will feature:
· New races, cultures, and areas
· Some remnants of this world, but translated by time and catastrophe
· A new class system that allows more character specialization
· Improved and expanded code
· Better integration of game and discussion board accounts
· A new website
· The same high caliber roleplay

For the first three months of the new game, there will be no karma requirements. At the end of the three month period, we will re-evaluate the need for karma.

For the next six months, our primary efforts will be spent on the new game, although we will continue to maintain and drive a major plotline on the current version of the game. It is, in fact, player efforts in those final days that will shape the world that takes this one's place as well as how it all ends.

If you are a Legend in good standing, you are welcome to apply to join us in the creation of our new world. Email Sanvean about doing so. Otherwise we will be taking on no new staff until the opening of the new game. Staffers creating areas may be recruiting players in order to help with writing NPCs, objects, rooms, echoes, etc.

June 1, 2007 is our target - we reserve the right to slip that by a week or two as needed.  We'll be keeping players posted and setting up a blog to talk about design decisions as we make them all along the way.
