This is a discussion on "Threshold: New Hardware, Recommended Playing Times" in the Top Mud Sites MUD Announcements forum : Threshold has moved to new hardware as the final step in recovering from a hard drive failure we experienced in April. For the last two months we were running on a backup server. We received the new hardware over a month ago, but since we only reboot the game once every 6-8 weeks, so we waited a bit before moving the game back to its own server. To celebrate, we have a number of events scheduled for this weekend. Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night (June 11 through 14) are Recommended Playing Times between 9pm and Midnight. Threshold: New Hardware, Recommended Playing Times
Threshold has moved to new hardware as the final step in recovering from a hard drive failure we experienced in April. For the last two months we were running on a backup server. We received the new hardware over a month ago, but since we only reboot the game once every 6-8 weeks, so we waited a bit before moving the game back to its own server.
To celebrate, we have a number of events scheduled for this weekend. Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night (June 11 through 14) are Recommended Playing Times between 9pm and Midnight. On Threshold, RPT means something special or interesting is going to happen, but you do not know exactly when or exactly what. Sunday night (June 14), starting at 9pm, we are having one of our players' favorite events: Kleiburn the Traveler. This is an event where an enigmatic merchant visits one of the capital cities to share stories, lore, and all manner of unique, useful, and powerful items that players can bid on. These events are enjoyable by players of all levels and experience. Everyone from the greenest newbie to the longest term player can participate in these events. Hope to see you online!
