Loose the automated installation thing. That sort of behaviour is generally not accepted by many people. Clicking on a link to a site should not automatically assault you with dialogue boxes asking to approve actions you weren't expecting. It's the kind of thing you expect from virus writers.

A warning in your post that we'd have to download it would be nice.
Also, the automatic install, like Samson said, is bad. I didn't get past that becuase I dislike having a download thrown into my face. |

Umm, it shouldn't be automatic...
Doesn't it ask if you wish to download it? Thats the "installanywhere" install shield from zerog that creates this install page. Could just give the .exe file for installing, but would be the same. |

I would suggest putting the link on an html page, giving a little more explanation about what exactly people are downloading, and just put a link directly for the program, not any installer...

If you follow the link as you supplied it, it pops up and asks you if you want t approve the action. I *ALWAYS* refuse such things unless I knew to expect it ahead of time. And even then I wouldn't have approved this one regardless since it was being certified by a company I knew nothing about. Not everyone is that concious of the things they do on the web so the automated installer thing really needs to go whether it asks first or not.

It won't do "other" muds much good right now. But if someone is really interested we could make up some general builder with about same layout for other mud formats. |

http://www.sharune.com/downloa....all.exe It is a custom tool for building zones. Currently not supporting any LP or diku derivates. Some recoded version of this program might do that later if people show interest. Would be great to contribute some (although might require a **** load of work to do The sac (sharune area creator) which is a completely graphical "olc" style tool has features like liveupdate patcher, game environment with commandline interface (walk around in your zone like in the game), dig compass, undo/redo, color palettes and a lot more. It also holds a MapMaker tool for creating wilderness ASCII maps. QuestMaker and DungeonMaker coming soon. |
