This is a discussion on "Windows Code Base?" in the Top Mud Sites MUD Coding forum : Hi, so we have a server up.. we're using Smaug. (I think, I'm not a coder ) However, we like the Star Wars ability to have 'ships'. Is there a windows supported code base that is pretty clean and tidy, and allows for ships? And input is welcomed. ~Ty BTW, the game theme is somewhat futuristic oriental if that helps define the search.... |

Hello again,
There is a windows version of the swr source code at http://www.archsysinc.com/lotj - browse around the site it is there. I know you are not a coder, but if I were you I would simply take the ship code from the swr codebase (of course you'll have to give credits to the swr creators), and then paste it in smaug. You shouldn't really have any problems since swr is based on smaug. This might be a hard process since you are not a coder. Before I walk you through this on this message board could you tell me how much of an extent you want the ship code. Like do you only want speeders to drive around or do you also want the space code and ship combat and all that. Please be specific in what you want from ships. Good Luck, Lodes (AIM: xLodesx) |

Heh. Not sure what level of Windows compatibility you're actually looking for, but AFKMud compiles cleanly in Cygwin, and it probably wouldn't be all that difficult to then use that to apply the SWR ship code to. |

http://mudworld.inetsolve.com/CBHQ/ has a few codebases which have Windows versions. Each are SMAUG based.
