This is a discussion on "Good starting code base" in the Top Mud Sites MUD Coding forum : hey all. I have been looking around and was hoping to get some opinions from everyone here. I am looking for a good starting code base to play with. I would like it to be written in C++. I don't really want it to have many features already built in except maybe an account system. Also I would like the code to be well documented.... |

Hey there,
Best of luck in your search. I think DoT (Dawn of Time) is written in C++, if I remember correctly. It has a lot of built in features though, which with a little effort you could likely strip out. DoT Homepage Hope that is helpful. |

Are there any existing MUDs you like that are based on a C++ codebase? If so, I'd look at that/those codebase(s) first.

I have looked at DoT, but it has too much of each componenet integrated into it. I may think about them.
What I really like is the way AIME did things, but the latest version of AIME at sourceforge doesn't compile |
