Erm...perhapz you could find something to help if you go to the Coderz Forum or the Newbie Forum, go down to the bottom of the list, and tell the nice Ikonboard that you want topics from the beginning. People have talked about this.

DRAAAGON!

Otherwise, I suggest ROM on the grounds of absolutely nothing.

I'm sure if you state more specifically what you want the codebase to do (do you want to program it from scratch, do you want it to have pretty much everything already installed,
and other such features), we could help you more.

Exclamation

It might also help if you listed what language you wanted to use on the mud. I know that some muds are C++ based, and others are SQL based, and still others are older languages based, or none of those.

I know that some code bases are easier to work on if you use SQL or C++ while others are harder. What is your background with these languages, what kind of server are you thinking about running the mud on? (UNIX, LINUX, some other type?)

If you can answer those, possibly someone might have a more clear suggestion as to what mud code base to start with.

Thumbs up

My personal choice would be LDMUD Its LPC (C derived language) and leaves the sky as the limit really.
