This is a discussion on "C++ and Windows" in the Top Mud Sites MUD Coding forum :

I've been playing with C++, and have no real desire to learn C or C#.  Is there something out there that will work with C++ AND Windows?...

www.gammon.com.au - win32 port of SMAUG - it's in C, but C++ and C are pretty much identical when it comes to the basics - if you are too deep into classes and so forth to grasp C, then you should probably go for something that uses C# or even Java.

Actually, is there anything else out there that is less... Smaug, and Diku-ish? The MUD I want to make will be classless and level-less.

If your not looking for a mud-in-a-box, take a look at mudcore.com.

The public version on the website needs a good deal of work to be ready to open a new mud with, but it's a good starter, and if your willing to help out on the project, the private version has alot more in place.
