This is a discussion on "LPC For Dummies" in the Top Mud Sites MUD Coding forum :

Hola! LPC For Dummies

Hola!

Because the old version of LPC for Dummies (Discworld MUD) was getting a bit dog-eared and ratty, I have written an update, and an expansion, and a pair of related (but not core) materials on MUD development.

You'll find them all at Monkeys at Keyboards (hosted externally so as to not stress the Discworld server with many large downloads).

The material is, of course, very Discworld MUD specific - bits of it may require an updated mudlib to function properly (but there shouldn't be many of these).

I thought they might be useful to anyone who is using our mudlib (available at lpmuds.net), or just curious about how an LP mud is put together.

I would appreciate any comments, requests or such that people would have - they are still in a moderately early draft form and there's plenty I'm sure that remains to be improved. There are some forums set up at Monkeys at Keyboards - Index for the discussion.

Regards,
Drakkos
