| Imagine a world where the monsters from beyond are real. Where foul denizens of nether dimensions lurk to prey upon the foolish men who think that science can answer all their questions. This is the world of CthulhuMud. Based in 1920s America it explores some possibilities of the Cthulhu Mythos. Character can be adventurers, detectives, soldiers, artists - even mages, if they can find the path to power while avoiding the perils of insanity. We feature a unique game world with our own highly specialized server, mob scripting and quest system. CthulhuMud is currently developing a completely new codebase (CMFX), and we have over 7000 additional rooms in progress to be added to the world.
