CLOK - MUD Description
CLOK is a sort of mish-mash of mid-fantasy, gaslamp, frontier western, and post-apocalyptic themes. It takes splace in the Lost Lands, the ruins of the once-great Kingdom of Aetgard which have since been quarantined due to the Great Plague that wiped the place out, followed by the rapid spread of diseases and taint giving rise to growing hordes of Infested, Canim, and Nethrim.

The races are all human - no elves, dwarves, and other such high-fantasy fare, though there are a wide variety of cultures. Magic is fairly low in influence and power, but present.

The game is in perpetual alpha, but RP-enforced. There are continuous ongoing events that player characters can participate in and make a difference with. There are many crafting options, as well as other non-combat activities such as mining, logging, farming, and so forth - one doesn't need to be a warrior in order to be important here.

While not necessary, characters can join one of several organizations in order to gain access to extra facilities, items, and some unique abilities. Examples include the Guild of Thieves, the Rook Parlour (an elite philosophical club searching for the secrets of life and death), the Western Coalition Artisans, the Mummers (a diverse group of performers, musicians, and magicians), the Knights Templar, and many, many more.
