| Avalon is a mythical fantasy world completely unique in its design and playability, overseen by those who have achieved immortality. It is a land of legends in the making, magic and adventure, blow-by-blow combat and sophisticated politics between city-states with war a continuous possibility. One of the very first MUDs Avalon is still developing and growing and its depth and complexity is beyond all others, though this can make it too great a challenge for those looking merely for entertainment. Each new character is allocated 20 hours free time to graduate the Academy (with a guide) and to get a feel of the land, its cities and guilds. As the original of its type, Avalon has spawned many imitators. Yet it remains without peer in its history, intricate combat system, and above all its integrity. |
