| The 'Talisman of Imprisonment' was enscribed, plated in gold and formed into the shape of a star to disguise its true nature. It was given to Azerax anonymously for his 50th birthday. Azerax, thinking he finally earned some long awaited recognition, proudly wore the cursed artifact. His first teleport spell thereafter, brought him to a remote island, from which he could find no escape. Years passed by, as Azerax tried to figure out why he was unable to leave the isle. He managed to discern the true nature of the talisman; no magic of his, directly or indirectly, would allow him to leave. Perhaps it was this, or the penetrating loneliness that led him to create the first enchanted animal. Azerax used his special enchantment to change other animals: lions, tigers, bears, turtles, insects, and whatever other animal he could find. The only animals that were not changed were the animals that were to be raised for food (cows, chickens, etc). One hundred and six species were transformed in all. A thriving city was formed- made up of intelligent animals. Azerax taught them all he could about civilization, acting as their king. The boundary law has been revoked - allowing the animals to explore a world they never had the conscious to know. That is where you come in, Brave Adventurer. Go out and explore the world, have spectacular journeys, complete dangerous quests, seek your fame and fortune, and secure the ideals of the only place you ever knew - The Jungle. |
