Newbie Help

i just downloaded smaug, but when i run it it dosnt let me type anything (windows ME)

Heh. Ok, a little more information would be needed to know what the problem is.

What smaug are you using? 1.4 or SmaugWiz
Are you trying to type directly into the window or are you trying to play it through a client?

Your best bet if you aren't using your client would be to set the client to go to:

Address: 127.0.0.1 or localhost
Port: 4000

That should get you in. If not you might need to elaborate more on what the actual problem is.

what you ran is the server. in order to actually connect to the mud, simply load your telnet client and go to 127.0.0.1, port 4000 (unless you specified that it should do a different port.. if you dont know what im talking about, then 4000 should work).

to have others connect to the mud, give them your ip address

thank heh, the smaug help file didnt really help me much, i'm on a different computer, so i cant see right now, but i know that going in through telnet will work heh, i just thought at first that i was supposed to use the dos window
