Shattered Isles Academy Celebration
 

All February long, is celebrating its Academy, a place where new players come to learn the ropes before venturing beyond its protection into the vast unknown. Our player base has taken it upon themselves to return to their old training grounds to put on a performance for our newest players, as well as those thinking about giving Shattered Isles a shot. In the past it's proven to be a great way to get familiar with the different styles of role-play and interacting with one another.

Academy appreciation also means new player appreciation. We have a number of activities this month geared toward making new players feel welcomed. We will also be offering two free role-play items of your own design all weekend long for any new accounts created this year. These are to help build the back story of your character. Personal items you might have arrived with at the Academy.

On the 7th of February, new and old players alike will gather at the Academy Crossroads to celebrate Alumni Day. A day when seasoned players return to the Academy to assist new players. This is culminated by an event at 9pm EST designed to highlight the potentials of being a merchant in Shattered Isles. The night will conclude with a history lesson on The Great Shattering.

The following night on the 8th, the Academy will once again play host, this time to a Scavenger Hunt. This is anything but your typical scavenger hunt. There's no telling what you'll discover during it. Students will gather at the crossroads at 9pm EST to receive instructions before being set loose upon the island in search of treasure and glory.

Both events make this the perfect weekend to give us a try. If you are new to Shattered Isles or MUDs in general, this will be a great opportunity to learn about the roleplay of the world, experience new skills first hand from current players, and take with you a bit of history as well. There's never been a better time to get involved.

A quicker summary would be to call Shattered Isles what it truly is. A story being written each day by everyone involved. Players have a direct impact on the growth and direction of the game. As new mechanics and areas are released, they are equally discovered in the in-character world. This is a game that evolves. Not from one stage of development to the next, but in a solidified effort by staff and players to truly build a unique experience.

First night went extremely well. New accounts created throughout the day and a total of 31 players in and out during the event. The scavenger hunt on 2/8 at 9pm est promises even more excitement. Thanks to everyone who came to check things out. Stick around and make a new home out of it.
