I'm looking to hear who out there has a very well implemented, in depth, challenging craft system that permits characters to advance without ever casting a spell or picking up a weapon.  The world also needs to be a very strong rp enforced environment with extensive background and dedicated playerbase who will help keep the rp atmosphere alive.

Any genre except futuristic interests me.

Thanks!

Well Inferno has all of that, but it's a pay-to-play game. You can look at the website at and try the game out for 30 days before joining, and you're not required to give any financial information in ordered to get the trial account. Might be worth it just to see for yourself, and then you can decide if it's worth it to you to pay.

DartMUD has what you're looking for. Check it out at .

I suggest you take a good look at Southlands MUD. It is a fantasy themed rp-enforced game where you take the role of an elf. You don't advance in the term of levels but of course if you play your character for some length of time and develop your skills you will grow better, just as real life.
The crafting system as such isn't extremely detailed and it's possible to create things without roleplaying, but we on the staff frown at that and we do award good roleplayers.
So, take a good look at the website, come up with a concept for your crafter and log in to make a character. You are welcome!

Yours, Tindalos

Armageddon, set on the desert world of Zalanthas, has an excellent crafting system. Merchant characters may not be able fight there way out of a wet paper bag, but they can craft almost anything. Initially they only have a handful of crafts, but as they progress they move from small items to eventually being able to make their own wagons.

I'd recommend Armageddon. It has many crafts and the RP there is of a very high standard in my opinion. As a crafter you would never have to pick up a sword or cast a single spell to become a master craftsperson (heh... only experienced RPers on Armageddon get the chance to cast spells).
