Is Something Going on with Wolfpaw?

I've been emailing them (tried admin@, support@, billing@, and sales@) every few days for almost a month now without a reply. Does anyone know if something's wrong with Dale or with their email system (maybe they haven't gotten the emails?). Tried calling but it's been horrible weather here and reception on the cell sucks bad in this weather (and the one time I tried when it wasn't, the cell needed charging). Anyway, does anyone have an idea if there's something wrong?

Thanks,

Jason

Not sure. Might want to try a landline

I know Dale is busy doing IRL things, and I don't know if anyone else actually works in their customer service department.

I would just keep trying and hopefully you'll hear something back eventually. Sometimes it's taken me months to get a reply.

That's ridiculous. Transfer over to genesismuds, I was with them for a while and Jim is awesome.

I hate to tell ya, I started out on GenesisMuds and they were far worse. I never once received a reply email from them while I was with them for 2 or 3 years.

Did you ever get ahold of them Prof?

No but between the holidays and being completely and utterly sick, I haven't contacted him in almost a week.

The flu sucks, especially when you get over it and then catch it again a day or two later.

I guess it's the eye of the beholder, or you had the wrong e-mail address or something. I had him on yahoo and aim and I still talk with him periodically and he always responds. E-mails were no different for me, I would always get a reply in a day or two.

It's possible their customer service changed in the last 6 years or so. I'm only stating my experience with them. And we used the email address they had listed on their site and/or server at the time.

It's nearly been two months since they took down my server to ship it to me and no word. Alas, my voice has not yet returned (result of the dry air of winter combined with a vicious flu bug I caught). Getting frustrated. One email I can understand missing. But a half dozen?

That is intollerable. I hope you get some results soon. Good luck!

Send an inquiry through certified postal mail to whatever land address is listed. That way you'll know they got it because someone will have to sign for it. If you're talking about something as important as physical hardware you shouldn't have to wait for two months with no contact.

Also tried sending an email. No response.

Re: Is Something Going on with Wolfpaw?

It's now been (just calculating in my head and not off of a calendar to be sure) 71 days since I contacted them about shipping me my server, 62 days since I last heard from them, and 55 days since they took it offline. I've emailed them repeatedly over the last two months, my coder has called them (my voice is slowly coming back but it still goes out in the middle of sentences) and until today there was no response. Unfortunately, when they finally called my coder back after three days of leaving messages, they refused to give out any information, even a tracking number, to him other than to say that they had shipped prior to Christmas, citing the "Christmas rush" as a reason why it has not yet arrived. My patience is all but gone. Simply put, it appears to me that it may be time to call my lawyer and have him file the appropriate charges. My property is being held without response to my request that it be returned. After more than two months of trying to deal with this in good faith, I don't see what further can be done outside of the law.

Likely you don't even need a lawyer for this, but one letter from a lawyer will undoubtedly wake them up (unless they are in bankruptcy and don't care). Make sure you screen capture all of your posts here about this and times and dates, it will be of value in the future.

About not needing the lawyer, just file with the court on small claims in the district/city where their company resides. Simple forms and very cheap to do, less than the cost of 1 hour with an attorney. If you want to try something less problematic, try contacting the BBB in the state where the company resides. This is usually faster and quicker results than court.

I am a little surprised we haven't heard anything here from Wolfpaw. I would imagine they care about their reputation as a MUD host, and this sounds absolutely terrible.

Re: Is Something Going on with Wolfpaw?

Yeah, I hope Dale's all right. The one time my coder got a reply to his call they didn't mention anything about problems so I don't know what to think. I just know my thousand dollar server hasn't yet arrived and attempts to find out why haven't yielded much in terms of answers. It's simply very frustrating and not only a little worrisome.

I'll send an email to another address I have for him, just to check on him.

Re: Is Something Going on with Wolfpaw?

Lawyers are expensive. Certified mail is cheap and takes only a few days to get a response back one way or the other. Either they'll sign for it and you'll know they got it, or the letter will bounce back and you'll know they didn't ( or refused it ). I'd only go legal with it all if the certified letter fails to produce a result.

Oh, and about small claims, I'm sort of doubting that would work in this instance. Wolfpaw is based in Canada.

This situation is starting to remind me of that MUD magazine incident from a few years ago. What was the name of that thing, and did anything ever come of that?
