Dragon Age Mud?
 

Dipping the spoon in the pot so to speak, before this project goes any further.

Anyone out there interested in working on a rp encouraged mud based on the Dragon Age world and lore?

If there's interest, we'll need builders, and a coder would be nice. Theres three of us ready to start, provided theres more interest than just us.

Do you have permission from Bioware/EA to use its setting?

I can think of ONE mu* that actually does have permission to use the setting....

Nope, haven't taken the project that far yet. It's still only in early conception stages, and the only things we have done are conceptualizing and planning. I have a Dawn of Time server ready but nothing is built yet. That's as far as we've gotten in the actual development because it's my intention to see if there is any interest from anyone in joining the project, before going as far as contacting EA/Bioware about permission.

Whats the name of the MU* that already has permission? The main reason we started this project was because we couldn't find any out there. I googled for it alot, and even searched here and on other MU* sites for anything with Dragon age, or Thedas in the name and came up with nada.

I obviously missed something. :p

And I believe White Wolf (all the Vampire: the Masquerade, Werewolf: the Apocalypse etc.) has said that they are happy for fan-run MUDs, as long as they aren't commercial.

I've written Bioware, asking for permission, in case people do have interest in this project. Now I'll just wait and see what they say, though there are plenty of forum play by post games on the setting, none are active anymore. Not sure if that's just due to inactivity or because they were asked to desist. However I would think that if they were asked to stop due to copyright issues, the forums wouldn't even be there anymore. *shrug* Who knows..
