Shortly after disaster struck again as King Richard was gravely injured during an explosion at the reconstruction of his palace. %r %t Although after months of lingering in a coma, King Richard is on the brink of recovery, the Council of Equals has yet to do so. It has not met nor elected a leader since Paul Moncrief’s treason . Now leaders of the kingdoms three political parties; the Conservatives, the Nationalist and the Social Democrats, prepare for a fever pitched battle to take control of the COE and determine the future of the kingdom of Sivad. %r Aside from social and economic issues, a key divisive issue between the parties is that of specialist ownership. Specialists are a race of genetically engineered beings created to serve the needs of Sivadians. While Conservatives and Nationalists support specialist ownership, social democrats believe specialist ownership is immoral and specialists should be free. SDP leader Paul Moncrief’s immediate and unilateral release of all specialists helped plunge the nation into chaos. It remains to be seen if the social Democrats will ever recover or if the Nationalists or Conservatives can restore the faith of the kingdom.
