Established in 1992, Worlds of Carnage is a MuD is a hack-and-slash, heavily modified Dikumud that has been hugely modified, improved and been around for the duration. The player base is currently small so veteran players will be providing help and equipment to any new players starting in the city of Elkin over the holiday period.

Nearly all original and well described world that still has unsolved areas and quests.
Unusual but very flexible, balanced race and class system based on dedicated class, dual class or no class.
Option to fully rebirth character at 25% experience cost at any time past level 40
Skills and spell quality system based on stats and class choices.
Grouping system to allow spellcasters and archers to remain safe from melee combat behind front row fighters.
Full PK options for those looking for an extra challenge.

Cons:
Lacks newbie school to assist with understanding of game concepts.
Forum and website documentation not updated recently.
