Well..Even being of a more..biurocratic.. profession,I do not like long empty words.

So I'll try to make it quick..

The first problem (and maybe biggest one) I see there,is this absolutely wrong view at people as us and them .
You all already have chosen your right side,and none of you already listens to them.
This is incorrect.Why do you have to look at them instead of seeing us?
This forum is a community.I think everyone agrees with that ?

Now you say that them are wrong.They have violated rules and therefore must go away.
This is wrong.
Isnt its pretty clear : you simply do not want to accept them into your community.

I would suggest you to forget your hatred,and start looking at them as at rightful members of community and forget your hatreds.

i totaly agree with you, some twits never read the frist post of the fourms and still hold grudges from the old forums.

I agree, I've seen a lot of "us" and "them" type things, whether on the mud, or in these forums. People see themselves as "right" and anyone who goes against them as "wrong". And a lot of times, they don't listen to the other side, as that side is, in their view, "wrong". It ends up in both sides being completely caught up in the argument that they lose sight of what they are really fighting about.

I hope that makes some sense. I would write more, but my head's kind of out there, and well, you get my point.. hopefully...

*shrugs* It's a conformity to the herd issue....tough love...or even self-policing (since I haven't seen Synozeer or the Forum Moderators taking a huge stand on these issues). We have no other way of moderating this debate, so sure, it becomes us vs. them. But it's not because we (the majority of those against spam) are just looking for a target to draw a bead at, or don't want to listen to the other side of the debate. It's because it's the only way we have to get them to conform to the high standards that we hold TMS to.

And I'm sure a lot of the animosity comes from the hurt that some of us feel when making comparisons to TMC, and how spam has been one of the contributing factors in the downfall of the site. And then you turn and look at TMS, and it's all of a sudden being flooded with the same thing. It's hard not to draw a parallel.

I think the responses to Likita's apology post prove it best. The people against spammers don't want blood, or someone's head on a stake. A promise not to do it anymore is sufficient. Now true, that still leaves open the question of right and wrong here. But I don't have the answer to that one, so I'll leave that to someone else.
