Browser Quest - Mozilla Promoting In-Browser Gaming

Has anyone seen this yet? I've poked around with it a bit and it looks pretty cool. The wiki and source code for this game may be a good source of information for people trying to find a good way to bring their mud into the browser while still keeping the telnet-based communications available as well (ie: telnet + websockets client on their website).

Awesome! I played this Steve Jackson browser-based game called UltraCorps several years ago. It was more of a strategy type game but I can remember being fairly impressed by it at the time. I think there's still much untapped potential here.

The browser (HTML/Javascript) has such a wide reach in terms of the number of platforms supported. I'm not sure how much websockets improve over the AJAX method, I guess there's less overhead because it acts more like a lower level protocol.

I played around in it, and didn't find anything unique about it. A similar game I saw long before was , just another lo-fi browser MMORPG.

The only thing that may be of interest is that it is by Mozilla, leaving the source code, which as lothoemas suggested, may be helpful to MUD admins (although I like having a client running my game instead of a browser).
