dMUD 1.0a was submitted to the 2005 32k Mud Competition.


It hasn't been in circulation since 2005, due mainly to link breakage and losing a web server. However, I recently discovered it on an old drive and have submitted it to Google Code.

Due to the size of the competition, the mud only has a few working commands, but possesses the core functionality on which anything could be built.

dMUD works with older versions (around 70-90) of Processing () -- but the .jar comes already built and runs in a web browser. Keep a page open on a computer with a browser that supports Java and the MUD runs on a port.

The source uses hooks to PHP to store MUD-related information in a MySQL database (or other, if you modify it). Developers are encouraged to use dMUD as the starting place for a Java-based MUD or Proce55ing-based MUD.
