what does *bump* mean?

Orrr, its to indicate a meaningless post whose only duty is to place the thread onto the top so everyone can bask in its glory.
Like erm...let's say someone puts a "Frequently asked newbie questions and answers" on the newbie forum, then there's a sudden barrage of new topics there. Someone would want to *bump* the FAQ&As for all the newbies to see, so they can look at that instead of making a new thread.
