After a long while spent revamping the world setting, Dark Isles is now ready for players to come and create characters within the world!

Dark Isles is a free text-based role-playing game focusing on the development of intricate characters, and joining in with others in creating a continually evolving story based in an originally themed world. Unlike many other MUD styled games out there, Dark Isles is focused upon creative writing and telling a story. Here you will find no levels or classes, but tools to help provide focus and background for your character and the setting.

Set in an alternate world where gears, goggles and magic-powered machines dominate life. It is a world that mixes the scientific wonder of Jules Verne and H.G Wells with the elements of gritty futurisitic cyberpunk. It is inspired by late 19th century Earth, where the industrial revolution is in full swing.

Demons, mind readers, and shapeshifters fill the world, as well as those who hunt them down. Others merely try to survive in these dark days.

Meanwhile the gods simply look on...

I'm having some issues with actually making a character and thus being able to log in. I created a new account, and this is what I was greeted with:

It says I have four slots open, but won't let me create a character.

This is one of those MUDs where you have to register in order to actually see how many people are online. I hate having to do that, and that's why I haven't already tried this game.
