Six years ago today, the first jointhesaga.com game, OtherSpace, opened its doors to players. Since then, the game has seen an evolution of dynamic storylines in which empires rose and fell, ancient enemies clashed, and cosmic calamities were averted.

We've had hundreds of players. Dozens of staffers. Many have come and gone.

And now we're starting anew.

The game is now officially OtherSpace: New Journeys. Our storyline begins in the year 3004. Omnipotent aliens such as the Kamir and the Hivers are no more, but traces of their civilizations remain. Their artifacts of power are likely to be a source of conflict in the coming years.

Today, at 5 p.m. Eastern, the first arc of OtherSpace: New Journeys, The Ruled Sun, kicks off with an event involving the crew of the UKT Athena and her search for the lost Kamir world of Palisade.

Before that, we'll be holding another OS trivia contest - the winner gets a $20 Amazon.com gift certificate. And after the arc event, we'll be announcing the staffer-voted winners in the OtherSpace Quarterly Roleplaying Awards.

Thanks to everyone for six (sometimes controversial but never boring) years of OtherSpace. Here's to six more!
